Gurdaspur, Nov 12: A seminar on the theme “Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji – Life, Philosophy, and Martyrdom” was organized at Sardar Beant Singh State University, Gurdaspur, on November 11, 2025, to commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, Bhai Mati Das, Bhai Sati Das, and Bhai Diala Ji. The event aimed to spread awareness about the Guru’s supreme sacrifice and timeless teachings that continue to guide humanity. The Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Dr. S. K. Mishra, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Inderjit Singh Gogoani, who shared thought-provoking insights with students, faculty, and staff. He elaborated on the philosophical aspects of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s life and his ultimate martyrdom for the protection of dharma and human rights. Dr. Gogoani emphasized that Guru Sahib’s sacrifice remains a universal symbol of courage, compassion, and the fight for freedom of belief. He urged everyone to imbibe Guru Sahib’s values of truth, tolerance, and spiritual strength in contemporary life. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Mishra highlighted the importance of remembering such great sacrifices in today’s fast-changing world. He noted that Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s message of peace, equality, and justice is of immense relevance in nurturing harmony within society. On this occasion, the Vice-Chancellor also presented the official logo released by the Government of Punjab in honor of the 350th martyrdom anniversary to the Registrar for installation within the university campus. The stage was ably conducted by Dr. Ranjit Singh, while Dr. Gurpadam Singh, Dean, Student Welfare, extended a formal vote of thanks to all guests and participants. The event witnessed the presence of Dr. Ajay Kumar (Registrar), Dr. R. K. Awasthi, Dr. Dilbag Singh, Dr. Gurnam Singh, Dr. Jaswinder Singh, Mr. Sukhvinderbir Singh, Mr. K. K. Bali (Assistant Registrar), Mr. Ranjit Singh (Assistant Registrar), along with numerous faculty members, staff, and students who participated enthusiastically.
