Reasi, Nov 12: The School of Computer Science and Engineering (SoCSE), Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, organized a National Workshop on “Ethical Hacking and Social Engineering” aimed at providing hands-on exposure to the students of B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) in the fast-evolving domain of cybersecurity.
The workshop featured Dr. Keshav Kaushik, Associate Professor, Sharda University, as the Resource Person, who conducted highly interactive and practical sessions on ethical hacking methodologies, penetration testing, and social engineering techniques. Dr. Kaushik engaged students in real-time demonstrations of cybersecurity tools and explained various ways to identify, prevent, and mitigate digital threats. The workshop was coordinated by Dr. Rohit Tanwar, Dr. Archana Purwar, and Dr. Vipal Kumar, faculty members of the School of Computer Science and Engineering.
The coordinators highlighted that the primary objective of the workshop was to enhance students’ awareness of cybersecurity challenges and empower them with practical knowledge to ethically secure digital systems.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of the B.Tech CSE and B.Tech Mathematics and Computing programs. Participants expressed appreciation for the engaging content, live demonstrations, and interactive approach adopted during the sessions. The Vice-Chancellor of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Prof. Pragati Kumar, congratulated the organizing team for conducting a workshop on such a relevant and contemporary theme. He emphasized that cybersecurity awareness is critical in today’s digital era and appreciated the efforts of the School of Computer Science and Engineering for continually striving to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical application. |
