Majalta, Nov 12: Government Degree College Majalta organized a vibrant Youth Rally at Battal Chowk to commemorate 150 years of the patriotic song ‘Vande Mataram’, celebrating its historical and cultural significance in India’s freedom movement. The event was organized by Dr. Chander Mohan Convener IQAC and Dr. Dalip Kumar HOD EVS, coordinated by Prof. Naresh Kumar, under the guidance of the esteemed Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Shalini Sharma. Around 120 enthusiastic students from the college actively participated in the rally, raising slogans and carrying banners that reflected the spirit of patriotism and national pride. The rally aimed to instill a sense of unity, respect for the nation, and awareness among the youth about the legacy of ‘Vande Mataram’. Among the faculty members Prof. Kamal Jeet, Dr. Baljeet Kour, Dr. Sunil Singh and Dr. Mohd Abass Wani also accompanied and guided the students throughout the rally, ensuring its smooth and meaningful conduct. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Shalini Sharma appreciated the efforts of the organizing team and the active participation of students. She emphasized that such events play a vital role in reconnecting today’s youth with India’s glorious past and cultural heritage. The event concluded with a vote of thanks to all participants and contributors who made the rally a grand success.
