| Geelani no authority regulate yatra : BJP | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 15- Reacting to the All Party Hurriyat Conference Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s statement that annual Amarnath pilgrimage should be cut short to two-weeks instead of two months, the BJP today said Geelani had no capacity to cut short the duration of yatra. '''The separatist leader, who speaks pro-Pak language has no authority to reduce the duration of annual pilgrimage and it is the government of Jammu and Kashmir that decides about the pros and cons of the yatra,'' Ashok Khajuria, BJP state president told reporters at a press conference here this morning. Khajuria further added, ‘‘we do not need any certificate from the separatist leader to run the yatra for two-months.'' Meanwhile, the BJP president, over the incident of police-gujjar clash on an encroached land in village Karnaila Chak, said the party members met the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu and demanded independent enquiry into the incident of encroaching land belonging to villagers, which was handed over to social forestry for plantation. ''The issue is being politicized as some mafia with the connivance of political leaders is trying to grab the land,'' Khajuria alleged. He said instead of awarding the protectors of the land, forest officials are being harassed he said and added, ‘‘an enquiry should be ordered into the entire episode and those, who are responsible and supporting the land grabbing, should be punished accordingly.
