| Development schemes suffering : Harshdev | | | Early Times Report Jammu may 15 Harsh Dev Singh MLA and vice-Chairman of JKNPP has alleged total collapse of the administrative machinery in the state leading to complete failure of the developmental schemes in the state. In a press statement former education minister and party’s senior leader said there was no government worth the name in the state and the bureaucrats were playing truant with no check on them from the political executive. Mr Singh said the official apathy and neglect of the main issues confronting the common masses had aggravated the latter’s miseries and woes with people suffering badly in different parts of the state. Mr. Singh regretted the non implementation of various decisions of District Development Boards of previous year and non holding of the District Development Board meeting for the current year. He said not a single penny out of the funds authorized by the Assembly by way of ‘vote on Account’ in February this year had been spent by any of the departments of the state government thus amply demonstrating not only its lack luster attitude but its complete bankruptcy and breakdown. He however alleged that government is trying to hide its inefficiency under the cover of ‘Model code of conduct’ quite oblivious of the fact that routine development works are excluded from the purview of the code. Further he regretted that the Congress-NC Ministers, rather than speaking of development issues, had all along remained confined to attacking the opposition parties, trading charges, indulging in mud stinging and blame game with the result that the Governance was consigned to the back seat. He said the diminished voter turnout in the Parliamentary elections |
