Jammu, Nov 13: The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Jammu Division, under the mentorship of Sh. Shantmanu (IAS),Financial Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary and Director JKSCERT, and the able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Sindhu Kapoor, Joint Director, SCERT Jammu Division successfully concluded a three-day capacity-building programme titled “Professional Preparation of ECCE Educators in Primary Schools and their Continuous Professional Development (CPD) for Implementation of ECCE)” organised by ECCE Department, Academic Unit-II, from 11th to 13th November, 2025, at the SCERT Divisional Office, Jammu. The programme commenced with an auspicious lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolising enlightenment and learning, performed by worthy Joint Director, SCERT Jammu Division, along with the Unit Heads, ECCE Head, and Programme Coordinator. The ceremony was followed by the rendition of the National Anthem, setting a solemn and patriotic tone for the proceedings. The inaugural session featured a concept note presentation by Ms. Monika Dogra, who also served as the Programme Coordinator. Dr. Sanjeevani, Unit Head (ECCE), shared insightful perspectives on the objectives and importance of the training, emphasising the professional preparedness required at the foundational stage. In her inspiring address, worthy Joint Director, SCERT, commended the initiative as a timely step towards strengthening Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework for Foundational Stage (NCF–FS 2022). She underscored the need for educators to be reflective, innovative, and empathetic practitioners, capable of fostering joyful, inclusive, and experiential learning environments for young children. Spanning three days, the participants benefited from engaging sessions facilitated by eminent resource persons including , Ms. Jaswinder Kour, Sr.Lecturer , SRML Hr Sec. School, Ms Shashi Bala, Incharge Middle School Lehnu ,Ms Geeta Bharti, Teacher Educator, DIET Rajouri, SCERT faculty members-Ms. Neeraj Jamwal, Mr. Anil Sharma, Ms. Meena Thakur( who also served as Associate Coordinator), Ms. Arsh Kour, Ms. Kamini Verma, Dr. Rohini Sharma and Ms Shazia Koser.The deliberations encompassed themes such as curricular goals and competencies, play-based learning, inclusivity and diversity, preschool setup and maintenance, curriculum planning, assessment for foundational stage, and the integration of technology in ECCE. A total of 50 participants, comprising 40 primary school teachers and 10 representatives from the District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs) across 10 districts of Jammu Division, took part in this comprehensive professional development programme. The smooth conduct of the programme was ensured through the dedicated efforts of the organising committee constituted for various responsibilities. Mr. Vinod Bhatt, Associate Professor, provided overall supervision, while, Dr. Sandarve, Mr. Anil Sharma, Ms. Shazia Kousar, Ms. Neeraj Jamwal, Ms. Rukhsana Gulbadan, Ms. Kamini Verma, Dr. Jyoti Sudan, Dr. Bhuvi, Ms Meena Thakur,Ms Sonika, Ms Sana, Ms Rakshandaand Ms Wajida Tabassum efficiently managed their assigned roles to ensure the programme’s successful execution. The valedictory session marked an enriching conclusion, featuring participants’ reflections, feedback, and sharing of best practices. The session also highlighted the celebration of 150 years of the iconic song Vande Mataram, with inspiring videos showcasing its historical and cultural significance. The tribute served as a reminder of the deep-rooted values of devotion, dedication, and love for the nation. Certificates of participation were awarded to the attendees. A formal vote of thanks was presented by Ms. Kamini Verma, Sr. Academic Officer. |
