Jammu, Nov 13: To commemorate the spirit of patriotism and national unity, the Debate, Seminar and Symposium Committee of Government Gandhi Memorial (GGM) Science College, Jammu, under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal of the College, organized a “Vande Mataram Sloganeering Event” under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The event aimed to instill in students a sense of respect for the motherland and rekindle the patriotic fervor among the youth. The programme commenced with a brief introduction on the historical and cultural significance of “Vande Mataram,” the national song of India composed by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee. Students and faculty members participated with great enthusiasm, raising slogans that celebrated the spirit of freedom and unity. The slogans “Vande Mataram,” “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” and “Jai Hind”—resonated throughout the campus, filling the atmosphere with national pride and energy. Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta appreciated the efforts of the organizing committee and lauded the participation of students. He encouraged them to uphold the ideals of patriotism, discipline, and selfless service towards the nation. He emphasized that suc h events are vital in reminding the younger generation of India’s glorious freedom struggle and cultural heritage. The event witnessed active participation from faculty members, NSS and NCC volunteers, and a large number of students. The programme concluded on a high note with the collective singing of the National Song, symbolizing unity, pride, and reverence for the nation.
