Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 13: Continuing his strong commitment to the all-round development of Bahu Constituency, Hon'ble MLA Bahu, Ch. Vikram Randhawa, today inaugurated two key infrastructure projects aimed at improving road connectivity, safety, and civic facilities in the area.
The MLA kickstarted the blacktopping work at Vidhata Nagar and its allied lanes up to Kiryani Talab, Bathindi, at an estimated cost of ?15 lakh under the PWD Department, and simultaneously launched the construction of an end-to-end right-side pavement at Narwal Chowk near the petrol pump towards Narwal, costing ?37.5 lakh under Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) through the NCAP scheme.
Both projects mark another milestone in Randhawa's continuous efforts to strengthen civic infrastructure across the constituency. The blacktopping of Vidhata Nagar and its adjoining lanes will ensure smoother movement for residents and commuters, while the pavement work at Narwal Chowk will enhance pedestrian safety, improve aesthetics, and reduce congestion in one of Jammu's busiest areas.
The inauguration took place in the presence of local residents and officials from both JMC and PWD Departments, including AEE's and JE's, who supervised the commencement of the works.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Vikram Randhawa said that development, connectivity, and public convenience remain his top priorities.
He stated, "These projects reflect our Government's commitment to ensuring strong, sustainable, and people-centric infrastructure. Every development work-big or small-adds to the vision of transforming Bahu Constituency into a model of planned growth and progress. Our focus is not just on building roads, but on building trust, confidence, and a better tomorrow for our people."
He further added that the completion of these projects will bring great relief to residents, shopkeepers, and daily commuters who had long demanded better roads and pedestrian facilities. Locals expressed heartfelt gratitude to the MLA for his proactive efforts and for fulfilling their long-pending demands.
Speaking to the media, Randhawa reaffirmed his vision, saying, "No area of Bahu Constituency will be left behind. Our mission is to ensure balanced and visible development across every ward, improving the quality of life for all citizens."
