| For child care dial 1098 | | | Early Times Report Jammu May 15 CHILDLINE team held meeting with District Programme Officer, Mrs Manisha Sarin, Child Development, Project Officer (CDPO) at CDPO office Gandhi Nagar. During the meeting it was revealed that it was told-" CHILDLINE is a national 24-hours free phone emergency outreach service for children in need of care and protection". ‘Any child in need of assistance could dial 1098 for the redressal of his/her problem, the meeting was apprised. CHILDLINE team headed by O.P.Gupta, coordinator also discussed that network could be created involving aganwadi workers, CHILDLINE team members and other volunteers so that benefit could reach to the needy children under the scheme introduced by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India. Mrs.Manisha Sarin, the distt. Programme Officer, appreciated the activities of Childline very much and assured full co-operation to Childline from her officers and the field staff. CDPO,.Jasmeet Singh impressed upon Project Officers and the Anganwadi workers to avail of the opportunity provided by the CHILDLINE and reach to the grass root level in their respective areas and render service to the community. He further said that assistance of Songs and Dramma Divison will also be taken in this joint venture for organizing programmes for the spread of CHILDLINE message in Jammu City. District Programme Officer and the CDPO, on behalf of Dinesh Gupta, the Director CHILDLINE and other team members, for arranging the meeting, O P Gupta expressed that networking with the Department would go a longer way in locating the children in distress and providing them assistance for the redressal of their problems
