Early Times Report SAMBA, Nov 14: Pt. Prem Nath Dogra Government Degree College, Samba organized the screening of a documentary on the patriotic song Vande Mataram as part of its ongoing celebration of national unity and cultural heritage. The programme was held under the guidance of Principal Dr. Meeru Abrol. In her address, Dr. Abrol highlighted the enduring significance of Vande Mataram, recalling its powerful role in motivating countless freedom fighters during the Indian independence movement. She emphasized that the song continues to symbolize national pride, emotional strength, and unity, inspiring youth to preserve India's cultural ethos and environmental values. The documentary presented the journey of Vande Mataram-its origin, literary brilliance, and its profound influence during the freedom struggle. It also showcased its continued relevance as a symbol of national integrity in contemporary India. The event was enriched by the presence of HoD Botany Prof. Mala Bhasin, HoD Hindi Prof. Anupama , HoD Geography Prof. Kamlesh, Dr. Nidhi Sharma, and Prof. Pratibha , who graced the occasion and motivated the students. A large number of students attended the screening with enthusiasm and appreciated the insightful portrayal. The programme was coordinated by Prof. Harjeet Kour, Convenor cultural committee with support from the NSS and NCC units and aimed at instilling patriotic values and deepening students' understanding of India's national symbols. |
