The initiative aimed to familiarize young voters with key electoral processes and provide them access to authentic and updated information from electoral authorities. A key highlight of the programme was the display of QR codes linked to the Chief Electoral Officer's official social media handles. This allowed students to easily connect with authentic government sources, receive timely updates on voter registration, election schedules, and guidelines and access digital awareness material on electoral literacy. The QR codes were prominently displayed on posters, allowing students to scan them using their smartphones. Students participated enthusiastically in the campaign. Many scanned the QR codes and followed the official social media pages to stay updated. Interactive discussions were held where students asked questions related to voter ID registration, polling procedures, and the role of the Election Commission. The Department of English, Government Degree College Vijaypur, successfully concluded the first phase of the Vande Mataram initiative by organizing a pledge-taking ceremony in the Seminar Hall of the college today. The ceremony witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members and students, who came together to reaffirm their commitment to the values of unity, patriotism, and national service. During the event, participants took a solemn pledge to uphold the spirit of the nation and contribute positively to society. |
