| Students allege bungling in JU | | | Early Times Report Jammu May 15 Alleging gross financial bunglings and misuse of social infrastructure funds in Jammu University by varsity administration, JU students and scholars has given ultimatum of ‘seven days’ to the Vice Chancellor Prof Varun Sahni to take stick action against financial bungling of funds. The students and scholars have joined hands, and framed ‘Students Scholars Joint Action Committee’ to look into the financial bunglings in the campus and other issues of students concern. This committee comprises Sunil Sharma, Varinder Singh Chib, Kuldeep Sharma, Rahul Sharma, Mohinder Singh Pandu, Ajay Talor, and Bindusar Abroal. Speaking on the occasion Varinder Singh Chib said that authorities have been involved in the financial bungling like misuse of JU’s social infrastructure fund. He said the scholarship for the scholars have not been released since last three months. The Committee members also alleged for transparent information on the financial bungling for the last three years (2006-09) committed by the highly placed officials of the JU in TA, DA, expenditure in officials parties and various other celebrations in the campus. They said that in this regards a Form (A) has been submitted by RTI Act to the registrar office Later, the committee members appealed the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to release funds for the smooth functioning of the Jammu University and take strict action those who are involved in the financial bungling.
