Three-day workshop on "Brainstorming on Start-up Ideas" concludes at Government MAM College

JAMMU, Nov 14: A three-day workshop on "Brainstorming on Start-up Ideas", organized by Government M.A.M. College, Jammu, under the aegis of Mission Yuva and the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC), concluded successfully on 13th November 2025 in the college Conference Hall. The workshop aimed at fostering creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial thinking among students in alignment with the national mission of Start-up India and Atmanirbhar Bharat.
The event commenced on 11th November 2025. In the inaugural session, Prof Archana Kaul, Principal, Government M.A.M. College, Jammu, gave the formal welcome address, she highlighted the growing significance of innovation and start-up culture in higher education. She encouraged students to use the platform provided by Mission Yuva and IIC to transform their innovative ideas into meaningful entrepreneurial ventures. The inaugural also featured an introduction to the workshop objectives and an overview of the three-day schedule by Prof. Amitpal Kour, Convener IIC, organizing committee.
Over three days, the workshop featured six technical sessions and multiple brainstorming activities conducted by distinguished resource persons, including Dr. Parveen Singh, Associate Professor, GDC Udhampur, Dr. Vishal Sharma, Associate Professor, GCW Udhampur, Dr. Jagjeet Singh, Associate Professor, GDC Udhampur and Dr. Sanjay Bansal, National Board Member, National Traders Welfare Board, The sessions covered diverse and practical themes such as Understanding the Concept of Start-ups and Innovation, Idea Generation and Validation, Mission Yuva: Vision and Opportunities, Safeguarding Innovation - An Introduction to IPR, and Funding Opportunities and Government Schemes for Start-ups. Students actively participated in idea development exercises, prototype discussions, and group presentations moderated by IIC mentors and faculty members. A major highlight of the workshop was the registration of around 11 new start-up ideas by the students of Government M.A.M. College, Jammu, under the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC). These ideas will now be taken forward for further mentoring, refinement, and incubation support within the Cluster University ecosystem. The Valedictory Session, held on 13th November 2025, was graced by the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu, Prof. K.S. Chandrasekhar, as the Chief Guest. In his address, Prof. Chandrasekhar commended the college for its visionary approach in promoting innovation, skill development, and entrepreneurship among students. He appreciated the collective efforts of the organizing team and the enthusiastic participation of students throughout the workshop.
