Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 14: The Ramakrishna Mission Medical Centre, Udheywala, Jammu, conducted a Free Mega Orthopedic and Physiotherapy Camp on Friday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Held at the Medical Centre premises, the camp received an overwhelming response from individuals suffering from orthopedic, muscular, and mobility-related ailments.
Patients experiencing problems associated with bones, joints, spine, muscles, and general movement difficulties turned up in large numbers to avail the free services.
The camp offered comprehensive diagnostic support, medical counseling, and physiotherapy demonstrations for a wide range of conditions, including chronic back pain, arthritis, joint stiffness, fractures, and post-joint replacement care.
Participants were provided physiotherapy guidance tailored to their specific problems and were also given complimentary access to therapeutic equipment such as a full body massage chair, leg massager, and laser therapy devices. These facilities enabled patients to experience immediate relief and understand ways to manage their conditions more effectively.
A team of expert doctors led the initiative, ensuring high-quality consultation and care. The specialists included Dr. R. C. Sharma (MS Orthopaedics), Dr. Anita Gupta (BPT, MAIOTA Physiotherapy), and Dr. Mallika Bharati (BPT Physiotherapy).
Their combined expertise helped patients receive accurate diagnoses and clear guidance for long-term management of orthopedic and physiotherapy concerns.
In addition to specialized orthopedic and physiotherapy services, the Medical Centre also arranged free consultations across multiple departments, ensuring a holistic healthcare experience for attendees.
These departments included General Medicine, Dermatology, Dental Surgery, Gynaecology, Eye Care, and Orthopedics. A detailed full body health check-up (fasting) was also made available, covering essential tests such as CBC, Lipid Profile, Urine Examination, TFT, LFT, KFT, and Vitamin D levels. Free diagnostic tests, including Bone Marrow Density, Uric Acid, and Blood Sugar examinations, were further extended to all patients attending the camp.
A total of 202 patients benefited from the services provided by 13 dedicated doctors during the one-day camp.
The initiative was aimed at offering quality healthcare to the community, particularly to those in need of orthopedic attention and physiotherapy support. The Medical Centre expressed deep appreciation for the doctors, volunteers, and participants who contributed to making the camp a significant and compassionate healthcare outreach effort.
Swami Yajnadharananda Ji, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission, Jammu, emphasized that the organization's activities are rooted in the ideals of Sri Ramakrishna Dev, Maa Sarada, and Swami Vivekananda, who taught that service to humanity is a form of divine worship. He reaffirmed the Mission's commitment to providing cultural, educational, and medical services for the welfare of society.
