Gandhi Nagar police achieves major success in operation Meghdoot

JAMMU, Nov 18: Police Station Gandhi Nagar has achieved a significant breakthrough by busting a well-organized two-wheeler theft racket operating across multiple areas of Jammu City. Acting swiftly on numerous complaints received from the public, police teams successfully recovered 40 stolen motorcycles and scooties, collectively valued at several lakhs of rupees.
Following the reports of vehicle thefts, FIR No. 22/2025 U/S 303(2) BNS, FIR No. 242/2025 U/S 303(2) BNS, FIR No. 215/2025 U/S 303(2) BNS, and FIR No. 220/2025 U/S 303(2) BNS were registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. Investigation was immediately set into motion.
A special team was constituted by Sh. Ajay Sharma JKPS, SP City South, led by PSI Mohd Ilyas, PSI Nadeem Akram, and ASI Pintoo Kumar, under the close supervision of Inspector Jai Paul Sharma, SHO Police Station Gandhi Nagar, and overall supervision of Sh. Kuljeet Singh SDPO City, South Jammu.
During the investigation, sustained efforts, technical surveillance, and analysis of CCTV footage from various locations led to the arrest of the following accused persons:
Harpreet Singh S/o Makhan Singh R/o Khanpur, Tehsil Ramgarh, District Samba
Gurdarshan Singh S/o Shanakh Singh R/o Pakhri, Tehsil Ramgarh, District Samba
Himanshu Nanda S/o Tilak Raj Nanda R/o Jindet Khurd, Tehsil Bishnah, District Jammu
During questioning, the accused admitted their involvement in several theft incidents in Gandhi Nagar, Trikuta Nagar,Satwari, Gangyal and adjoining areas of district Jammu. On their disclosure, 40 stolen motorcycles and scooties were recovered from different locations.

The residents of Gandhi Nagar, Trikuta Nagar, and adjoining areas have highly appreciated the efforts of entire team of Police Station Gandhi Nagar for their professionalism, timely action, and successful crackdown on the theft module. The recovery of such a large number of stolen vehicles has brought a major success to Jammu Police and sense of relief among the general public.
