Majalta, Nov 19: Government Degree College Majalta, under the directives of the Higher Education Department, organised its 3rd Orientation-cum-Workshop on the SIGMA Portal through the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) today i.e.on November19,2025
The programme was held under the guidance of Principal Dr Shalini Sharma, who highlighted the role of digital platforms in promoting transparency and efficient grievance redressal in higher education institutions.
Prof Sunil Singh, Lecturer in Computer Applications, served as the resource person and provided a comprehensive demonstration of the SIGMA Portal. He explained the procedure for creating student accounts, submitting issues, and monitoring grievance status online. Students from all semesters participated actively and gained hands-on understanding of the portal’s usage.
The event was coordinated by Dr Chander Mohan, Associate Professor (English) & Convenor IQAC, supported by Prof Naresh Kumar, Co-Convener IQAC, and other faculty members.
The workshop concluded with an interactive session during which students clarified various operational doubts about the portal. The initiative was well received and reflects the college’s commitment to strengthening digital literacy, accountability, and student-centric governance.
