| It’s beginning of new era: Farooq | | | Early Times Report Srinagar: Asserting that the return of the Congress led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government in power will herald the new era of peace, prosperity and development in the country, National Conference, President and newly elected parliament member, Farooq Abdullah on Saturday said that the UPA’s return will foster Indo-Pak relations for the peaceful settlement of all issue including Kashmir.
“We are very happy that UPA has returned. I am hopeful that Congress led UPA government at the Centre will foster Indo-Pak relations so that a peaceful solution is arrived to solve the Kashmir issue,” Jubilant Abdullah told Journalists at his Gupkar residence shortly after results for the Srinagar-Budgam parliamentary seat declared him winner.
“We’ll facilitate and pave way for the Separatists to talk to the Centre so that the miseries of Kashmiris come to an end,” he added.
Reports reaching said that the senior Abdullah asserted that the UPA government will take the nation on the path of peace and development. NC President said that he was hopeful that the Prime Ministerial candidate, Manmohan Singh will complete the tasks which he could not do during last five years.
“I am sure that Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh will complete the tasks which he could not do during his last tenure,” Abdullah said.
When asked if he would join the union cabinet, Abdullah said that the Prime Minister is the authority to decide on the team which he wants to work with
