Jammu, Nov 20: Today 20th November 2025, Sahitya Akademi new Delhi in collaboration with jammu and kashmir academy of art,culture and languages Jammu organized One day symposium on "New Trends and image schemes in Dogri Poetry(1980-2020)". Inaugural season was presided by Om Goswami an eminent Dogri writer and scholar and the chief guest was Harbinder Kaur, Secretary Cultural Academy Jammu. Key note address was presented by Khajur singh Thakur an prominent Dogri writer. Welcome address and introductory note was presented by Mohan Singh convenor Dogri advisory board Sahitya Akademi new Delhi.
In his welcome address Mohan Singh unfolded the schemes of Sahitya Akademi for the promotion of the languages and literature. He told that Sahitya Akademi,National Akademi for letters have constituted so many schemes for the development of Indian literature across the country in 24 languages, recognized by Sahitya Akademi. Dogri is one of the recognized languages by Sahitya Akademi as well as included in the 8th schedule of the Indian Constitution. Even than Dogri is facing so many problems with in the jurisdiction of Dogri speaking people. This is a matter of concern for all of us and we must think over it seriously for its solutions. At the end of first session Vote of thanks was presented by Reeta Khadyal Editor of Dogri in cultural academy Jammu.
First session was presided by Puran Chander Sharma an eminent Dogri Writer. Two papers were presented in this session by Tarsem Raina and Sarita Khajuria.
2nd session was presided by T R Magotra an eminent dogri writer . In this session Paper readers were Kuldeep Kippi and Deepika Mehra.
Symposium was attended by the large number of writers, scholars and students.
