| Samba police organizes debate competition on drug abuse at GDC Samba | | | Early Times Report SAMBA, Nov 20: Samba Police today organized a debate competition on drug abuse at Govt. Degree College (GDC) Samba which witnessed enthusiastic participation from hundreds of students, lecturers, teachers and members of the college management. The event conducted under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) was presided over by SSP Samba, who was accompanied by Addl. SP Samba, DySP DAR Samba, SDPO Vijaypur and other police officers. A total of twelve students from GDC Samba actively took part in the competition. SSP Samba presented mementos, medals, bags and certificates to the first, second and third prize winners, while the remaining nine participants were also felicitated with certificates and mementos for their commendable efforts. Addressing the gathering, SSP Samba urged students to channelize their energy in the right direction, take part in recreational and constructive activities, and remain focused on their academic pursuits. He advised them to stay away from drug abuse and encouraged them to inform police about any drug-related activities in their areas, assuring that the identity of the informer would be kept strictly confidential. He further said that Samba Police is making all-out efforts to wipe out the drug menace from the district by taking stringent legal action against drug smugglers and suppliers. The initiatives of J&K Police in raising awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse were widely appreciated by the college management and all attendees. The event concluded with the distribution of refreshments among the students. |
