Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 20: The Composite Regional Centre (CRC) Jammu (Samba) under the administrative control of PDUNIPPD, New Delhi, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India and The Association of the Deaf and Aphasic, Jammu, have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster collaboration in the fields of rehabilitation, allied health training, and capacity building for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. The MoU was formally signed by Dr. Rohnika Sharma, Director, CRC Jammu (Samba) and Kamal Nain Bhan, General Secretary, The Association of the Deaf and Aphasic, Jammu as the authorized signatories of their respective institutions. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Ms. Madhu Bala Bhan, President, The Association of the Deaf and Aphasic, Jammu, Ms. Chayya Raina, Vice President, The Association of the Deaf and Aphasic, Jammu, Mr. Anil Sharma, Sports Secretary, The Association of the Deaf and Aphasic, Jammu, Mr. Muneer Ahmad Mir, Interpreter/Advisory Babbly Executive Member, The Association of the Deaf and Aphasic, Jammu along with Mr. Rahul Singh, Rehabilitation Officer, CRC Jammu (Samba). This partnership aims to build a collaborative and sustainable framework between the two premier institutions to enhance rehabilitation services, skill development, clinical exposure, and awareness programs for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs). By integrating medical expertise with rehabilitation practices, the collaboration seeks to bridge the gap between medical care and functional rehabilitation - ultimately promoting inclusion, early intervention, and improved quality of life for PwDs across Jammu & Kashmir. All collaborative activities will be conducted utilizing the existing resources, infrastructure, and manpower of both institutions. Speaking on the occasion, representatives from both institutions expressed optimism that the collaboration will open new avenues for research, professional training, and integrated rehabilitation services, thereby strengthening the support ecosystem for Persons with Disabilities in the Union Territories of J&K. |
