Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 22: Rahul Sahai, Chairman of the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Jammu & Kashmir, called on Shri Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Hon'ble Minister of State for Home Affairs, Government of India, during the Minister's visit to Jammu today . The meeting was a courteous interaction, reflecting ICC Jammu's continuous engagement with the J&K Government on matters concerning trade, industry, and overall economic growth of the region. During the interaction, Sahai presented an idol of Mata Vaishno Devi Ji to the Hon'ble Minister as a gesture of respect and goodwill, and also extended a warm invitation to him to visit the holy shrine for Devi Darshan. Sahai apprised the Minister of the evolving industrial landscape of Jammu & Kashmir and highlighted the major reforms and improvements witnessed since 2020 under the leadership of Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha ji, particularly in infrastructure, industrial policy, investment facilitation, and business climate enhancement. He further stated that the newly formed government under Chief Minister Shri Omar Abdullah and his cabinet is carrying these initiatives forward, ensuring continuity in growth-led governance and support to the industrial sector. In the meeting, Sahai discussed several important matters related to trade and commerce, such as strengthening industrial security, improving interstate logistics and supply chain movement, addressing infrastructure and land allotment gaps, enhancing warehousing and cold-chain facilities, boosting MSME competitiveness, and fostering smoother coordination between trade bodies and government departments for timely resolution of issues. He emphasized the continued need for support from the Union Government to accelerate industrial expansion, improve ease of doing business, and create a stable and investor-friendly environment in Jammu & Kashmir. The Minister appreciated the perspectives shared by Sahai and assured that the Ministry will remain supportive toward strengthening the trade and industry ecosystem of the Union Territory.
