JAMMU, Nov 22: The Induction Meet Programme for the July 2025 learner's batch of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) was successfully conducted at GGM Science College, LSC-12133, marking the beginning of the academic journey for new students.
The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Sandeep Gupta, Regional Director of IGNOU, who presided as the Chief Guest. At the outset, Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal of GGM Science College, Jammu, presented the welcome Address to the newly admitted learners. He extended his best wishes and motivated them to utilize the platform for continuous learning and skill enhancement. Following this, Dr. P. S. Thakur, Coordinator of LSC-12133, provided a detailed introduction about the centre and its functions. The proceedings of the programme were efficiently coordinated by Prof. Vishal Sharma, Assistant Coordinator of IGNOU LSC-12133.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Sandeep Gupta, delivered an inspiring speech where he interacted with the students and made them thoroughly aware of the working mechanisms of IGNOU, including its flexible learning approach and academic structure. Dr. Asha Upadhayay, Deputy Regional Director, also interacted with the students, meticulously addressing and catered to their queries, ensuring clarity and guidance for the new batch. Dr. Maqeem Anssari, Assistant Coordinator also spoke during the event. Others who were present during the successful induction meeting included Prof. Sanjay Kumar and Prof. Rohit Bhardwaj, all of whom contributed to the informative session. The induction meeting was attended by more than 150 learners across different districts of Jammu and Kashmir union territory. The formal programme concluded with the vote of thanks, which was presented by Prof. Vishal Sharma.
