Project Expo 2025 Showcases Innovation, Excellence at SMVDU

JAMMU, Nov 23: The School of Computer Science and Engineering (SoCSE), Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, successfully organized Project Expo 2025, providing a dynamic platform for students of School of computer science & engineering to showcase their innovative ideas, technical skills, and creative project work. The event offered students a valuable opportunity to display their projects, gain expert feedback, and strengthen both their academic and professional portfolios. The gathering was warmly welcomed by the Head of the School of Computer Science & Engineering, Dr. Sunanda; setting an encouraging tone for the event. The expo was inaugurated by Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Pragati Kumar, who emphasized the importance of such initiatives in enhancing project quality, encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration, and preparing students to compete globally. Prof. Ashok De, Bharti Arian Chair Professor, appreciated the creativity and technical depth shown by the participants. Prof. Balbir Singh, Dean Academic Affairs, also addressed the gathering, stressing the importance of organizing such initiatives at the university level to nurture innovation and excellence.The final round of evaluation was conducted on the day of the event by an external jury comprising of distinguished members from academics and industry, who assessed the selected projects and identified the top three performing teams based on innovation, execution, and real-world impact.The first prize was awarded to Sachin Tripathi, Yash Shrivastava, and Kartike Saxena for their project HireMate - AI-Based Interview Bot. A cutting-edge AI solution designed to conduct intelligent interviews, evaluate responses, and assist companies in efficient candidate screening. The second prize to Madhav Sharma for TAAP - Auto-Heating Neckband for Stray Dogs. A compassionate innovation aimed at protecting stray animals from extreme cold by providing an automated heating system and the third prize to Shivam Kumar, Kulkul Singh, and Shivam Kumar for unira.in - Connecting Students and Alumni. A platform designed to strengthen alumni-student engagement, mentorship, and career networking.Dr. Sunanda, Head School of Computer Science and Engineering emphasized Project Expo 2025 as a proud testament to the growing culture of innovation, collaboration, and academic excellence at SMVDU, made possible through the dedicated efforts of its organizers-Dr. Rohit Tanwar, Dr. Sakshi Arora, Dr. Sonika Gupta, Dr. Archana, and Dr. Vipal-whose commitment contributed significantly to the event's success.
