EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, MAY 17: Addressing a Satsang at Parade Ground, Jammu after the culmination of a grand rally, Sadguru Madhu Param Hansji Maharaj of Sant Ashram "Sahib Bandgi", of spiritual awakening movement said that the soul possessed the inherent qualities, bliss
Consciousness and purity. Either weapons cannot cut it nor can air-dry it or can water wet it. These are the permanent traits of the soul and nothing can be added to or reduced to it. Soul is above the traits of lust and anger. "How is it that the soul which is free of these evil traits was performing such acts? Who did bind it in such bondages?" he asked. He said that the oriental stream of Santmatt through its sheer self realization (Anubhuti) and contemplation (chintan) had realized that it was the mighty and the cruel power of mind which had been deviating the soul in various worldly pursuits through its false charms (Maya). Mind cannot be seen but is all prevalent in this universe. Jeevatma is captive of mind. This mind power is making the Jeevatma to dance to its tunes by spreading a vast web of ignorance around it. People ignorant of the entices of mind have become its willing and easy prey. Even great scholars, tapasvis and yogis could not escape this deceit of mind. The entire humanity, he said, is ridden with ignorance (Avidya). Religious texts are unable to completely describe these intricacies, he said.
Sadguru Maharaj concluded that this was an era of science where everything is subject to evidence and verification. The Supreme Being cannot be confined barely to narrating stories to the devotees or recitation of Sacred Mantras. He is infinite. One cannot confine Him to a particular place of worship. The Santmatt, in wake of these limitations is presenting a stage of wide spectrum of Hinduism limited not only to the country but also to the entire humanity.
