R S Pura, Nov 24: Department of Political Science in collaboration with NSS successfully organized a Poster Making Competition on Constitution Day, observed annually on 26 November to commemorate the adoption of the Indian Constitution and to honour the vision of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and the Constituent Assembly. The event aimed to promote constitutional values—justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity—among students while encouraging creative expression. Participants showcased their artistic skills through thought-provoking posters illustrating themes such as Fundamental Rights, Fundamental Duties, Directive Principles, Democratic Values, and the Spirit of the Constitution. The competition saw enthusiastic participation from students across various departments/classes. The posters reflected deep awareness of constitutional principles and highlighted the importance of active citizenship in a democratic society. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Preetpal Kour, Principal of the College said, “Constitution Day reminds us of our duties as responsible citizens. Through activities like poster making, young minds engage with these ideals in meaningful and creative ways.” A panel of judges comprising of Dr. Sunil Mangoch, HOD Dogri, Prof. Rajinder Singh, HOD, Punjabi evaluated the entries based on creativity, originality, thematic relevance, and visual impact. Mridulof Semester 3rd secured 1st position while Pallavi Bhagat and Vishalli Bharti got 2nd and 3rd position. Winners were felicitated with certificates and tokens of appreciation. The entire event was coordinated by Ms. Vijeeta Anand, HOD Political Science, Prof. Lukesha Dubgotra and Prof. Ruchika Raina. The celebration concluded with a renewed commitment to uphold the Constitution and promote civic awareness among youth. |
