| Fortis Escorts Hospital launches OPD services in Jammu | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, May 17- Fortis Escorts Hospital, Amritsar, a premier super specialty hospital belonging to Fortis Healthcare, today launched its OPD services for the citizens of J & K region.
Announcing the introduction of OPD services at Jammu, Jasdeep Singh, Director Fortis Escorts Hospital, Amritsar said that the purpose of this OPD is to give the residents of the state an out of class treatment experience and to provide them with expert guidance for which the medical expertise of Fortis Escorts is known for. He further said “we are even keen to extend our services to the city by providing a well equipped ambulance to shift the patients at a very nominal cost”.
He announced that the OPD services will be available for Cardiology (Heart problems), Neurosurgery, Cancer, Bone and Joint Replacement on every Saturday and Sunday of the month. He further added that the hospital has provided this OPD centre to those patients who look forward for an alternate opinion to their medical problems and follow-up of those patients who have been operated at various Fortis Escorts facilities. He further informed that Fortis Escorts Hospital, Amritsar is a 154 bedded super specialty hospital in its sixth year of operations and has recently completed 13000 Cardiac procedures.
Also present at the occasion were Dr. Arun Chopra, Senior Intervention Cardiologist, Dr. Raj Kamal, Senior Neuro surgeon and Dr. Mohit Arora, Joint Replacement Specialist who are going to attend to the patients in this OPD. Introducing them to the gathering Dr. Gaurav Thukral, Deputy Medical Superintendent of the hospital said that Dr. Chopra, who is an alumnus of AIIMS, New Delhi is one of the senior most interventional cardiologist and has been with the Fortis Escorts group for over 6 years now. He is one of the few trained cardiologist in the country and the only one in the region capable to perform Electrophysiology work for treatment of patients suffering with irregular heart beat (Arrhythmias) apart from performing routine angioplasties and pacemakers.
Dr. Rajeev Gupta, who is the first Cancer super Specialist from Jammu region, will also be available regularly for this OPD that will be run at local ROTARY BHAWAN at Green Belt Park, Gandhinagar.
