Early Times Report DARHAL, Nov 26: Government Degree College Darhal observed Indian Constitution Day with dignity and patriotic spirit, reaffirming its commitment to uphold the values enshrined in the Constitution of India. The event was organized to commemorate the adoption of the Indian Constitution on 26 November 1949, a historic moment that laid the foundation for the world's largest democracy. The observance aimed to remind students and faculty about the significance of constitutional values such as justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity in strengthening the democratic fabric of the nation. A brief introduction on the importance of the day was shared, highlighting that Constitution Day encourages citizens to respect the rule of law and to actively contribute to nation-building through responsible conduct and civic awareness. The central part of the event was the collective reading of the Constitutional Preamble, taken as a solemn pledge by the entire college community. All faculty members, including Prof. Zameer Ahmed Mirza (Principal), Prof. Saleem Wani, Prof. Ghulam Abbas, Dr. Taseem Ahmed, Dr. Mohd Akhlaq, Prof. Anzar Ahmed, Dr. Raja Shahid, Dr. Mohd Shakeel Kataria, Dr. Mohd Shakoor, Dr. Abdul Ghani, Dr. Atta Ul Rehman Malik, Prof. Beenish Mir, Prof. Nighat Parveen, Altaf Hussain, and Jameel Ahmed, participated in the pledge with earnest dedication. Students from all semesters were also present in large numbers and joined the pledge with enthusiasm and a deep sense of responsibility.
