Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 26: The Directorate of Agriculture Jammu today observed Samvidhan Diwas with enthusiastic participation from officers and staff under the national campaign "Hamara Samvidhan - Hamara Swabhiman" ("Our Constitution - Our Pride"). The event was held at Krishi Bhawan, Talab Tillo, Jammu, and was led by Director Agriculture Jammu, Shri Anil Gupta, along with Deputy Director Agriculture (Central) Sh. Sanjeev Rai Gupta, sectoral heads, officers, and other staff members. As part of the observance, the officers and staff of the Agriculture Department collectively took the Samvidhan Diwas Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to uphold the values and principles enshrined in the Constitution of India. India adopted its Constitution on November 26, 1949, marking a defining milestone in the nation's democratic evolution. The Constitution came into force on January 26, 1950, shaping the framework for governance, justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity. In commemoration of the 76th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution, the Government of India has identified the theme for the 2025 observance as "Hamara Samvidhan - Hamara Swabhiman." This theme is being widely adopted by ministries and organisations across the country to promote constitutional dignity, national unity, and public participation. Addressing the gathering, Director Agriculture Jammu, Shri Anil Gupta emphasised the importance of strengthening constitutional awareness among citizens. He urged all district, block, and panchayat-level officers across the Jammu Division to organise similar programmes at their respective locations and encourage collective reading of the Preamble of the Constitution as part of the ongoing national campaign. He further appealed to individuals to internalize and practice the guiding principles of the Constitution in their daily lives. Anil Gupta also underscored the need to foster a culture of respect and pride for the Constitution and highlighted its significance in safeguarding democratic values. He called upon officers of the department to continue promoting constitutional literacy and ensuring that the fundamental rights and duties embedded in the Constitution are upheld and respected by all. |
