Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 26: A meeting of the Managing Committee of the Home for the Aged & Infirm, Ambphalla, Jammu, was held today. In the absence of Shri I. D. Soni, President, who could not attend due to ill health, the meeting was chaired by Shri H. S. Manhas, Vice President. The meeting was attended by Patron Shri Prem Gupta, IPS, IGP (Retd.), Dr. Dinesh Gupta, Secretary; Shri Vijay Gupta, Joint Secretary; and Members of the Managing Committee, Shri Pankaj Gupta and Shri Sat Pal Sharma. The proceedings commenced with a welcome address by Shri Manhas, followed by a comprehensive discussion on all Agenda Items. The House confirmed the Minutes of the previous meeting held on August 26, 2025, and approved the Income and Expenditure Accounts for the quarter ending October 2025. The Committee was informed that more than 17 reputed institutions and distinguished individuals visited the Home during this period, interacted with the Management and Inmates, and conveyed their appreciation for the facilities, services, and overall care provided by the Home. The Committee was apprised that the recently opened Allopathic Dispensary and Physiotherapy Centre, functioning daily from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, is significantly benefiting both the Inmates and members of the general public. The Secretary appealed to the citizens to refer elderly persons above 60 years of age-who are physically fit, mentally sound, non-addicted, and in need of shelter and care-to the Home for the Aged & Infirm (Vridh Ashram), Ambphalla, Jammu. Such individuals will be provided free boarding, lodging, clothing, medical assistance, and a safe living environment. The Secretary further informed the House that several paint manufacturing companies have been approached for the complete painting of both buildings of the Home and for displaying their advertisements appropriately. An MoU may be finalized on mutually agreed terms, and a positive response is expected shortly. The House was also informed that six shopkeepers are willful defaulters and that the leases of 15 properties had expired long ago. After extensive deliberations, the Committee unanimously resolved to initiate legal proceedings without delay for the recovery of outstanding rent and to examine each case individually for renewal or other appropriate actions concerning the expired leases. It was further resolved to convene the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Home's premises. After the formal proceedings, the Managing Committee interacted with the Inmates and staff members. The Committee advised the Inmates to take special precautions during the winter season and requested the staff to extend greater cooperation to ensure continuous improvement in the functioning, cleanliness, and overall upkeep of the entire Home. The meeting ended with a pray to the Almightily God for the speedy recovery of Shri I.D.Soni , President of the Home who is unwell for some time. |
