Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 26: Department of Political Science and NSS Unit of GCW Bhagwati Nagar Jammu commemorated Constitution Day (Samvidhan Divas) with great pride and vibrant participation, honouring the adoption of the Indian Constitution on 26 November 1949. The event aimed to deepen awareness about the values, duties, and rights enshrined in the Constitution. The celebration began with the reading of the Preamble, followed by a brief address by Prof. Nusrat Koser, Head of Department of Political Science. In her address, she highlighted the vision of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and the significance of constitutional values in modern India. A series of activities were organised as part of the celebration, including a Poster Making Competition, where students showcased creative interpretations of constitutional principles such as justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity. A seminar was also conducted, wherein students deliberated on topics related to constitutional governance, fundamental duties, and citizens' responsibilities in a democratic society. Participants enthusiastically engaged in discussions, sharing their perspectives on how constitutional principles can be upheld in daily life. Winners of the competitions were felicitated during the valedictory session. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Naveen Anand Principal of the college praised the efforts of the organisers and emphasised the need for stronger civic awareness among youth to strengthen democracy. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Preeti Salathia NSS Programme Officer, acknowledging the contributions of faculty, participants, and supporting staff and programme came to an end with the National Anthem, symbolising unity and respect for the nation..
