| Wrestler Benia lifts Bhamag Kesri Dangal-2009 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Udhampur, May 17- Wrestler Benia of Jammu and Kashmir Police, hailing from Basantgarh area of tehsil Ramnagar, bagged 11th Annual Bhamag Kesari Dangal- 2009 Title by defeating wrestler Amjad Ali of Malerkotla (Punjab) in a neck and neck wrestling contest at Sar Dabbar (Kalsote) Udhampur on the concluding day of 3-day Shiv Parvati Cave Shrine mela.
Benia was awarded cash prize of Rs. 1500 with traditional Silver Gurj, Patta and Gold medal while as cash prize of Rs. 1100 was given to the runner up wrestler Amjad Ali.
The second wrestling contest was won by wrestler Sonu of Himachal Pradesh defeating Kuldeep of Bhamag while as third match remained tied between Wreslter Kalu and Abdul Rashid. In all, 37 bouts took place in the wrestling match.
The Dangal sponsored by Amar Memorial Trust, Katra, Bhamag Kesri Dangal Committee and J&K Bank was organized by J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association (JKISWA) under the supervision of President JKISWA, Shiv Kumar Sharma.
Amar Memorial Trust donated Rs.20, 000 while J&K Bank Manager, Panchari, Rajinder Gupta contributed in the shape of a cheque of Rs.5, 000 for holding the event.
