He elaborated upon the Guru’s life sketch, spiritual philosophy, and historic sacrifice made to protect Dharma, human rights, and freedom of conscience. Comprehensive Life History of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji was born on 1 April 1621 in Amritsar to the Sixth Guru, Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, and Mata Nanaki Ji. From childhood he exhibited qualities of deep spirituality, bravery, humility, and meditation. Trained in martial arts and horse riding under the guidance of Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, he also mastered spiritual wisdom and self-discipline. He was married to Mata Gujri Ji, and after years of meditation and service at Bakala, he was anointed the Ninth Guru in 1664. Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji travelled extensively across the Indian subcontinent—Punjab, Haryana, Bihar, Bengal, Assam—spreading the message of universal brotherhood, compassion, equality, and inner awakening. He established the town of Anandpur Sahib and guided people to overcome fear, suffering, and injustice through spiritual strength. During the oppressive reign of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, when forced conversions of Hindus and saints were rampant, Kashmiri Pandits sought Guru Ji’s protection. Guru Ji boldly stood for religious freedom, declaring that if he sacrificed himself, tyranny would end. |
