Billawar, Nov 26: Government Degree College Billawar commemorated the 75th year of the Adoption of the Constitution of India by organising a Preamble Reading Ceremony on the college campus. The event was held under the patronage of Dr. Alka Sharma, Principal, GDC Billawar, and conducted under the aegis of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Activity Club, NSS, and NCC units of the College. Aligned with the national theme “Hamara Samvidhan – Hamara Swabhiman”, the programme celebrated pride, dignity, and respect for the Indian Constitution. The ceremony commenced with opening remarks by Dr. Raj Kiran Sharma, who highlighted the historical significance of Constitution Day and emphasized the need for students to understand the foundational values of the nation. Faculty members (both teaching and non-teaching) along with students participated actively in the event. In a notable and symbolic expression of unity in diversity, the Preamble was read in four languages—English, Hindi, Urdu, and Dogri, showcasing the linguistic and cultural harmony that defines India. The observance reaffirmed the core constitutional principles of Justice, Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity, inspiring participants to uphold these ideals in their personal, academic, and social spheres. |
