| Woman asked to avail govt schemes | | WDC-SVDS organize awareness camp at Kishtwar village | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Kishtwar, May 17: With intention to create awareness among people about the government schemes, Woman Development Cooperation in collaboration with Saffron Valley Development Society organized an awareness camp at Mugalmaindan, Chatroo areas of the mountainous Kishtwar district where a large number of women and prominent people especially from rural areas of Chatroo participated. The speakers including President SVDS Sheikh Mohammad Ramzan, General Secretary Saffron Valley Society Muhammad Ibrahim Shah and staff of the Women Development Cooperation highlighted various schemes of the WDC. The rural women was asked to come forward and extend support to the families by setting up of own income generating units with sufficient market cover in their respective areas. On the occasion number of women volunteered themselves for mass participation in such programmes. They were motivated to form Self Help Groups to avail micro credit facilities on a nominal rate of interest from the Jammu and Kashmir Women Development Corporation (WDC) in order to earn their own livelihood out the schemes. Even the educated Un-employed female candidates selected by the statuary institutes for professional trainings were asked to come forward to avail the education loan facility from WDC on nominal rate of interest. Other schemes were also highlighted at the camp and the educated girls were given brochures of the schemes and benefits which can be availed out of these programmes. The participants appreciated the programs of the WDC and fifty NMDFC and 10 Micro credit forms were distributed among the deserving educated female participants. They were advised to have the formalities completed and submit the application forms duly completed with in a period of ten days positively.
