Early Times Report Srinagar, May 18: The Director General of Police (DGP), Kuleep Khoda, today sanctioned scholarships in favour of 53 school children of deceased police personnel, who laid their lives while fighting the militancy in the State and also who have died due to natural deaths. Giving the details, the DGP said that over Rs.1.08 lakhs have been sanctioned in favour of 28 children of deceased police personnel who have sacrificed their lives, while fighting the militancy in the State and 25 students of police personnel who died due to natural or accidental deaths, for the academic year 2007, 2008 and 2009. DGP J&K Mr. Khoda, said these students are presently under going studies in various educational institutions across the State in different classes from L.K.G. to Graduation level owning the responsibility of Police Organization to ensure that the children of police personnel receive quality education to enable them to compete various competitive examinations for better career prospects. The scholarships were sanctioned among the wards of police personnel out of Central Police Educational Fund, whose parents have given supreme sacrifices while fighting the militancy during last two decades in various parts of the State, include Puja Devi, Vikran Dutt, Sapna Khajouria, Master Aryan, Master Simran, Mihir Vir Partab, Master Manyavir, Partab, Neelam Sharma, Romi Sharma, Gourav Sharma, Abhisheikh Sharma, Vasundara Sharma, Rifat Hyder, Bismah Hyder, Abid Bashir, Firdous Bashir, Amir Ahmed, Bismah Jan, Shahid Iqbal, Humaira Tahir, Muzamil Amin, Adila Ashraf, Shahid Afridi, Mhavish Mehboob, Saqib Hussain, Danish Hussain, Syed Saqib, and Syed Sameer. Besides, scholarships were sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund in favour of school going children of deceased Police Personnel who have died due to natural and accidental deaths, include Rajat Sharma, Novneet Kour , Syumiya Mushaq, Umar Muishtaq, Sayeema Khurshid, Kousar Jabeen, Aishiya Bano, Abid Latif, Rashid Latif, Nadim Latif, Inderpal Singh, Anuj Gill, Anku Gill, Amjid Yasin, Taiba Yasin, Jagdeep Singh, Mndeep Singh, Iqra Abas, Asrear Abas, Humaira Gul, Sumira Gul, Owais Ahmed, Tazmeena Maqbool, Moonis Maqbopol and Sumaya Rashid.
