| Mir Lasjan thanks people for reposing faith in UPA govt | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU May 18: Senior Congress leader and AICC member Ghulam Nabi Mir Lasjan said that party’s victory in the Parliamentary elections has once again vindicated the trust of masses on the Congress party.
The people of the country including the state of Jammu and Kashmir has reiterated faith on the policies and programmes of the Congress under the dynamic leadership of the party president Smt.Sonia Gandhi and the party general secretary Rahul Gandhi.
He said that it was possible only under the able guidance of Smt.Sonia Gandhi that the party could win elections without any pressures and hurdles.
He also hailed the efforts of Dr.Manmohan Singh in leading victory to Congress and welcoming the decision of the party high command for projecting him a Prime Ministerial candidate.
“Projecting Dr. Manmohan Singh as PM candidate also helped Congress party to win as there was no doubt on the simplicity and sincerity of the man who backing congress with convincingly.” Mir said.
Expressing gratitude to people of the state for ensuring victory of alliance candidates of the NC and Congress, he said that the wining of five seats by the NC-Congress in the state would strengthen the Congress-led UPA government at the centre.
He also congratulated workers of the Congress and National Conference for working with dedication and enthusiasm during electioneering and persuading voters to ensure victory of the party candidates convincingly.
