Early Times Report KATHUA, Dec 5: Continuing vigorous enforcement drive against the instances of overloading of Passenger vehicles and other major violations under the Motor Vehicle Act and Central Motor Vehicle Rules, the teams of Motor Vehicles Department Lakhanpur launched special enforcement drives and Challaned 58 vehicles in different locations of Kathua. According to the report, under the guidelines of Transport Commisioner Vishesh Paul Mahajan and under the Supervision of RTO Lakhanpur Surinder Paul Sharma ( JKAS) , A team was led by ARTO Shammi Kumar , MVI Vikas Shrivats , MVI Jatinder Chib , SMVI Neeraj Kumar & MVTA Ashwani Kumar. The drive carried out at different locations in Kathua and in its adjoining areas, wherein the team checked 220 vehicles out of which 58 vehicles were booked for various offences including route permit violations, RC violations, overloading, without seat belt , without helmet, without SLD, etc. The team imposed penalty of fine of rupees One Lakhanpur fifty eight thousand from violators through e Challan. Besides this four load carriers and one passenger auto seized on the spot and one driving licence of the drive also suspended. ARTO Shammi Kumar Said that, on Friday morning , the team laid nakka in different locations of Jammu Pathankot national highway in District Kathua and launche enforcement drive and challaned 58 Vehicles who were found in various provisions of motor vehicle act and imposed fine with an amount of Rs1.52 Lakh from the violators on the spot. He also said that, the drive shall continue in future and tough action will be taken against the traffic violators. |
