Early Times Report MANDI GOBINDGARH, Dec 5: Desh Bhagat University successfully organised the Progressive Farmers' Meet-2025 cum International Conference on Future Farming Innovations, Entrepreneurship & Technology, along with an Exhibition and Stalls. The event was conducted by the Agrim Club, Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences, in association with IQAC, Desh Bhagat University. The meet witnessed the enthusiastic participation of around 200 progressive farmers from DBU-adopted villages and neighbouring regions, creating a dynamic platform for scientific discourse, innovation sharing, and enhanced farmer-scientist collaboration. The program commenced with a warm reception of Hon'ble Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur, the Chief Guest, Dr Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor Guest of Honour and other dignitaries. Prof. (Dr.) H. K. Sidhu, Director, Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences, delivered the welcome address, highlighting DBU's commitment to empowering farmers through quality education, research and innovation. Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh addressed the gathering, emphasizing the need to adopt sustainable, technology-driven and future-ready agricultural practices to secure the future of farming. Eminent experts including Dr. A. S. Gill (Director, PAU Seed Farm, Nabha), Dr. Ranjit Singh (PAU, Ludhiana), and Dr. Buta Singh (Chief Agriculture Officer, Fatehgarh Sahib) delivered insightful talks on modern farming practices, seed advancements and farmer-centric government initiatives. A vibrant Giddha performance by students of the Faculty of Education added a colourful cultural touch to the event. A special interactive session with progressive farmers showcased inspiring success stories and key learnings on modern agriculture and community leadership. The participating farmers included S. Gurwinder Singh (Nanowal), S. Darshan Singh Babbi (Sarpanch, Saunti), S. Balvir Singh Jaria (Jaria), S. Ravneet Singh (District Coordinator, Roundglass Foundation), S.
