Early Times Report DARHAL, Dec 5: As part of the week-long celebrations of Constitution Day 2025, the NSS Unit of Degree College Darhal organized an insightful seminar on "The Importance of the Indian Constitution in Nation Building", highlighting the foundational role of the Constitution in shaping India's democratic framework and guiding its socio-political development. The program was held under the leadership and patronage of Principal Prof. Zamir Ahmed Mirza, who emphasized the need for students to understand the values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity enshrined in the Constitution. He encouraged the youth to actively participate in safeguarding constitutional ideals. A keynote lecture was delivered by Dr. Ghulam Abass, Vice Principal of the College who explained the historical background of the Constitution, the vision of its framers, and its relevance in contemporary India. The speaker highlighted how constitutional provisions uphold national unity, protect fundamental rights, and guide India's progress as a sovereign democratic republic. The programme was an initiative of IQAC and NSS wing of the college headed by Dr M Saleem Wani and Dr Mohd Akhlaq respectively. Principal Prof. Zamir Ahmed Mirza also addressed the gathering, highlighting the significance of Constitution Day in fostering respect and understanding of the Constitution among students and the community. The program also witnessed active participation from other faculty members, including Dr. Taseem Ahmed, Prof. Anzar Ahmed, Dr. Raja Shahid, Dr. Mohd Shakeel Kataria, Dr. Mohd Shakoor, Dr. Abdul Ghani, Dr. Atta Ul Rehman Malik, Prof. Beenish Mir, Mr. Altaf Hussain, and Mr. Jameel Ahmed. |
