KVK Reasi organises Training Programme for Krishi Udyamis of KKGs

REASI, Dec 6: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi under the aegis of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies of Jammu (SKUAST-J) in collaboration with Department of Agriculture, Reasi organised training programme for Krishi Udyamis of Kisan Khidmat Ghars (KKGs) under HADP here at Sub-Divisional Agriculture Office, Reasi. The programme was organised under the dynamic stewardship of Vice Chancellor, Prof. B.N. Tripathi and able guidance of Director Extension, Prof. Amrish Vaid of SKUAST-J. The programme was co-ordinated by Chief Agriculture Reasi, Vinod Kundal. The objective of the programme was to train the Krishi Udyamis of KKGs and improve their hand holding and business opportunities. Dr. Banarsi Lal, Chief Scientist & Head,Reasi guided participants on the innovative and sustainable agricultural practices by integrating digital services through Kisan Khidmat Ghars (KKGs). He suggested the participants to take advantage of such type of useful training programmes and assured every possible support from the KVK. He stressed on the management of soil health and discussed on pillars of natural farming.Aftab Ahmed Malik, SDAO, Reasi guided participants on agricultural opportunities and digital empowerment. He encouraged the Krishi Udyamis for their efforts to disseminate the agricultural information to the farmers and applauded the efforts of KVK Reasi for the welfare of the farming community. Earlier Kumar Gaurav, Agriculture Extension Officer, Reasi warmly welcomed the participants and apprised them about the details of the activities of KKGs. He said that the trained persons can act as the extension agents in their respective areas who further can guide the farmers of their areas on the efficient use of agro-inputs. Dr. Mandeep Singh Azad guided participants on scientific dairy and poultry farming and highlighted the marketing, branding and packaging of dairy products for more farm returns. Dr. Lalit Upadhyay spoke on use of ICT in agriculture and also guided them on medicinal plants. He guided the participants on balanced doses of manures/fertilizers and highlighted organic and natural farming to reduce the cost of cultivation. Dr. Jagdish Kumar spoke on the computer literacy and also on the use of ICTs in agriculture. Arshad, SMS also spoke during the programme and upgraded the knowledge of the participants. Rakesh Kundal spoke on Farmers Producer Organisation. Bharat Bushan, Agricultural Extension Officer, Department of Agriculture, Reasi spoke on various agricultural schemes undergoing in the distt. Special farmer-scientists interaction session was also organised during the programme during which the participants asked various quarries which were answered satisfactorily by the experts. Participants thanked KVK Reasi and Department of Agriculture for organizing such a useful programme. The proceedings of the programme were carried by Bharat Bushan. The programme was concluded by Aftab Ahmed Malik, SDAO, Reasi with formal vote of thanks.
