REASI, Dec 6: Continuing its strong action against narco-smugglers and drug peddlers, District Police Reasi today arrested one person and recovered heroin from his possession. At around 1900 hours, a police team intercepted a suspicious person who was moving on foot from Katra side towards Tikri. The individual was identified as Varun Singh S/O Late Karan Singh R/O Sool, Katra, District Reasi. He was apprehended at Sool, and during his personal search, the police recovered 4 grams of heroin-like substance from his possession.
In this connection, FIR No. 328/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the contraband and possible links to the drug network.
The entire operation was carried out by I/C PP Kakryal PSI Akhilesh Khajuria and SHO P/S Katra Insp. Ranjeet Singh Rao, under the close supervision of SDPO Katra Dr. Bhishm Dubey, JKPS and SP Katra Vipan Chandran, JKPS.
