Three – day national conference on Applied Physical Sciences concludes at JU

Jammu, Dec 6: The National Conference on Advances in Applied Physical Sciences (NCAAPS-2025), organized by Department of Physics, University of Jammu, concluded today with valedictory session marked by insightful reflection, expressions of gratitude and reaffirmation of committed to scientific advancement.
The valedictory ceremony was presided over by Prof. Neelu Rohmetra, Dean Research Studies, University of Jammu, with Prof. Shaid Hussain as the special guest. The event witnessed the presence of distinguished scientists, academicians, research scholars, and students from across the country. In her valedictory address, Prof Neelu Rohmetra appreciated the organizers, for successfully organizing three days event and emphasized the growing importance of interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research. Under her dynamic leadership, the university has significantly strengthened the efficiency and student-centric functioning of the Dean Research Studies office.
Organized under the patronage of Prof. Umesh Rai, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, the conference was inaugurated on 4th December 2025 by Prof. Mahavir Singh, Vice Chancellor, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, with Padma Shri Prof. Lalit K. Mangotra as Guest of Honour and Prof. J. P. Singh Joorel, Dean Academic Affairs, presiding over the session. This was followed by plenary lecture by Prof. Mahavir Singh, Vice Chancellor, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla.
The conference, conceptualized with the support of the Dean Academic Affairs, and Dean Research Studies was meticulously planned and executed under the convenership of Prof. K. K. Bamzai, Head, Department of Physics, whose dedicated efforts ensured the smooth organization of all sessions. Report reading and the Vote of Thanks were formally presented by the Organizing Secretary, Dr. Sandeep Arya. Eminent invited speakers, chairpersons, and judges contributed greatly to the scientific depth of the event through insightful lectures, stimulating discussions, and rigorous evaluations of technical and poster sessions. Over the past three days, the conference served as a vibrant platform for exchange of ideas, showcasing a rich spectrum of research in applied physical sciences. During these three days, one plenary lecture, 18 Invited talks, 25 oral presentation and about 90 posters by young minds were presented.
Two best oral presentations and three best poster presentation were given by Prof. Neelu Rohmetra. In the valedictory address, convener NCAAPS 2025 expressed immense pride and satisfaction at the successful execution of the conference.
The Department gratefully acknowledges the generous financial support from Anusasdhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Jammu & Kashmir State Innovation Council (JKSTIC), Rashtriya Uchatam Shiksha Anusandhan (RUSA), and the University of Jammu, which enabled the successful conduct of the conference. The enthusiastic participation of delegates, researchers, students, and the vibrant cultural programme presented by the post graduate students added colour and significance to the event. The University extends heartfelt thanks to the Organizing Committee, faculty members, non-teaching staff, the technical team, student volunteers, and all contributors for making NCAAPS-2025 an academically vibrant and memorable experience, and looks forward to hosting more such impactful academic events in the future.
