| Jammu police, foils illegal bovine movement, recovers 31 stolen bovine animals within 24 hours | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 8: Police Post Bathindi achieved a major success by recovering 31 bovine animals including stolen bovines within 24 hours after the lodging of a theft complaint. On 04.12.2025, a written complaint was filed by Shaheen Kouser, wife of Talib Hussain, resident of Bathindi near B.N. College. The complainant stated that she had gone to visit her relatives, leaving no one at home. Upon returning at around 1730 hours, she found that 08 cows, including calves, were missing from her dairy. On this, FIR No. 337/2025 under Section 331(3)/305 BNS was registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation was taken up. During the investigation, the Police Post Bathindi acted swiftly and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK03N-2697, which was found loaded with 31 bovine animals. Upon identification by the complainant, some of these animals were confirmed to be among the stolen bovines. Further investigation is in progress, and efforts are underway to trace and arrest the accused persons involved in the theft. The route, mode of transportation, and destination of the stolen bovines is also under scanner to ascertain the full chain of illegal movement. |
