DODA, Dec 9: Doda Police achieved a major success today by apprehending an accused wanted in multiple ATM theft cases registered in the State of West Bengal. One person, namely Sapat (32), S/O Idris, R/O Near Masjid, Gudhala (174) Mewat, PS Punhana, District Nuh (Mewat), Haryana, PIN-122508, was involved in several ATM theft incidents, including two cases amounting to Rs 34 lakh. In this regard, FIR No. 131/2025 U/S 321, 305, 326 BNS stands registered at Police Station Howrah Sankrail, West Bengal. A police team from West Bengal had arrived in Doda to trace the accused.
On the directions of SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta-JKPS, a dedicated police team was constituted to assist the visiting team. Acting swiftly and on specific information, Doda Police apprehended the accused from the Khellani area.
The accused has been brought to Police Station Doda for completion of legal formalities and will be further handed over to the visiting police team as per the procedure. With this action, Doda Police have successfully averted a potential theft threat in the district. |
