REASI, Dec 9: District Police Reasi continues its relentless drive against drug menace in the district. On 08.12.2025, officials of Police Station Reasi established a naka for checking of vehicles and pedestrians at Gran Morh on Reasi-Railway Road.
During the checking, one person travelling on foot from Gran Morh towards Railway Road was stopped for questioning. He disclosed his identity as Mohd Ashraf S/O Hussain Ali R/O Gran Morh, Tehsil & District Reasi.
Upon thorough search, the police recovered a pink-white coloured polythene from the right pocket of his kurta. On opening it, 3.60 grams of heroin-like substance was found. When asked about the possession of the contraband, the individual failed to give any satisfactory reply.
The accused was immediately detained, and a case FIR has been registered at Police Station Reasi. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the substance and identify any associates involved in drug peddling.
The whole operation was conducted by the team of Police Station Reasi, led by SHO Police Station Reasi, Insp. Khyatiman Khajuria, under the overall supervision of Dy.SP Hqrs. Reasi Vishal Singh Jamwal and Addl. SP Reasi Iftkhar Ahmed - JKPS.
SSP Reasi Paramvir Singh, JKPS, reiterates its commitment to making the district drug-free and ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens. Police appeals to the general public to cooperate and share any information regarding drug abuse or peddling. |
