M Suleman Choudhary-IPS, IGP Traffic J&K holds review meeting on traffic management in Jammu City

JAMMU, Dec 9: Mohd. Suleman Choudhary, IPS, Inspector General of Police, Traffic, J&K, chaired an important review meeting with officers & officials of Traffic City Jammu, focusing on strengthening traffic regulation and improving overall mobility across Jammu City.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohd Haseeb Mughul-IPS, DIG Traffic Range Jammu, Shri Amit Bhasin-JKPS, SSP Traffic City Jammu, Shri Arvinder Singh Kotwal-JKPS, Addl. SP Traffic City Jammu and all Dy.SsP and DTIs of Traffic City Jammu.
The IGP Traffic J&K issued firm directions to identify all major congestion points, analyze the root causes and implement practical and time-bound measures to streamline vehicular movement. He stressed that traffic officers must adopt a problem-solving approach, ensuring that every bottleneck is addressed through coordinated field action.
The IGP Traffic J&K laid strong emphasis on the visible presence of Traffic Police personnel, particularly at peak hours and at sensitive junctions. He stated that consistent on-ground presence of DTIs and Dy.SsP is essential to regulate traffic, assist commuter and enforce discipline.
The IGP Traffic J&K further remarked that Jammu City is the face of the region and therefore the Traffic Police must project a high standard of professionalism, courtesy and efficiency. He instructed officers to ensure that traffic personnel remain alert, well-aligned and responsive, reflecting the department's commitment to public service.
He also directed the Traffic City Jammu team to remain fully prepared for the upcoming winter migration and the expected influx of heavy vehicular volume, particularly during peak. Movement days, festivities and tourism flow. The IGP Traffic J&K called for robust field supervision, daily monitoring of high-volume corridors and immediate corrective action wherever required. He directed officers to submit detailed decongestion plans along with timelines for implementation.
