| Boys rock Science and Commerce, Girls maintain supremacy in Arts | | | MUNISH GUPTA JAMMU, May 18: Boys outshined girls in Merit List of Science and Commerce faculties in Higher Secondary Part-II exams conduced by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education results of which were declared today by the nodal examination authority. As a matter of routine, the girls maintained their supremacy in Arts faculty in the said result with marked overall pass percentage of about 40pc. Boys claimed 18 ranks collectively in the science and commerce stream while the girls who kept their supremacy Arts claimed12 ranks in the said examination. Dipesh Gupta clinched first position in Science faculty for RS Jagriti Niketan HSS Kathua by securing 687marks out of a total of 750 (91.60 per cent) while Suhel Gupta got first slot in Commerce faculty taking 696 marks 92.8 per cent). Prety Bhagat topped in Arts faculty with 623 marks (83.1per cent). Suresh Kumar of Akhnoor GHSS bagged second position by securing 681 marks in science while third slot went to Radhika Gupta of Model Academy HSS BC Raod who got 678 marks. Fourth position in Science stream went to Monika Chib of St Peters HSS who secured 677 marks while the fifth postion was shared by Poonam Aggarwal (Model academy) ,Alok Bhat and Rahul Jalali both from Vishwa Bharti Public HS by securing 671 marks. Sixth position went to Anish Gupat of DBN HSS by securing 668 marks while seventh postion was shared by Bhawani Sharma (Shiksha Niketan), Sonika Sudan ( Kotwal National Institute of Teaching ) , Prakrati ( Model Academy) and Suraj Chalotra (Shiksha Niketan HSS) securing 667 marks. The eight rank was again shared by trio of Dixit Gupta (Shiksha Niketan HSS), Aman Mahjan (Akhnoor, GHSS) and Vikram Singh (Green Model HSS Doda) 666 marks respectively. Aditya Verma ( SRMLS HSS ) and Abhishek koul ( Vishwa Bharti Public HS ) claimed ninth and tenth position with 665 and 662 marks respectively. In Commerce faculty, Vipen Sharma (SRMLS HSS) bagged second position with 696 marks while Urvashi Aggarwal (SM Jain HSS) and Ashit Mahjan (DBN HSS) shared third position with 660 marks. Fourth position went to SRML HSS student Ashook Kumar who secured 656 marks. Shivank Kabra (DBN HSS), Kanika Juneja ( Viday Peeth Public HSS ) and Shivani Khajuria ( Mubarak Mandi HSS ) bagged 5th, 6th and 7th positions taking 654, 653 and 642 marks respectively. Eighth position was shared by Pooja Talashi (Vishwa Bharti Public Scholl HSS ) and Mukesh Kumar ( SRML HSS ) with both of them taking 640 marks. Neeraj Gupta of Udhampur GHSS secured ninth position by securing 638 marks while tenth position was shared by Mamta Prusty (Shiksha Bhawan HSS) and Sheetal Soni (SP HSS) with 636 marks respectively. Second position in Arts faculty went to Sanjeet Singh (Udhampur, GHSS) while third position was shared by Shannu Devi ( Thathri GHSS ) and Sangeeta Rana ( Green Model HSS Doda ) who took 612 marks respectively. Rupali Sharma and Cathleen Kaur both the students of Shiksha Niketan HSS secured fourth position with 611 marks. Sana Rehman from Green Model HSS Doda bagged 5th position securing 609 marks Amneet Kaur (Shastri Nagar GHSS) and Ekta chaudhary (Shiksha Niketan HSS ) both shared 6th rank by securing 605 marks respectively. Bhanu Priya Sharma (Shiksha Niketan HSS) and Megha Sharma (RS Jagriti Niketan HSS, Kathua ) bagged 7th and 8th postion by securing 596 and 590 marks respectively. Ninth and 10th positions in Arts stream went to Sukhwinder Kaur ( Adarsh Vidya peeth) and Nahida Koser ( Plangarh GHSS ) who had 589 and 588 marks to their credit. Of a total of 42857 candidates enrolled for the examinations, only 17182 could manage to get through registering a total pass percentage of 40. There were a total of 1062 distinctions and 4445 first divisions
