Amritsar, Dec 10: In a significant step towards fostering a drug-free campus and community, the Red Ribbon Club of DAV College, Amritsar, organized a solemn oath-taking ceremony against drug abuse today. The event saw enthusiastic participation from student members and faculty, underscoring the institution's commitment to social responsibility and student well-being.
Held at the college auditorium, the program aimed to reinforce the dangers of substance abuse and empower youth to become ambassadors for a healthy lifestyle. The club members collectively pledged to abstain from and actively discourage the use of narcotics and other intoxicants.
They vowed to spread awareness about the detrimental impact of addiction on physical health, mental well-being, and societal harmony.
Principal Dr Amardeep Gupta presided over the ceremony and commended the initiative. "Our youth are the architects of our nation's future. It is imperative to shield them from the scourge of drug abuse.
This pledge by the Red Ribbon Club is not just a symbolic gesture but a firm commitment to build a resilient, productive, and positive generation," stated Dr Gupta.
