| Ramban police arrest woman for possession of Charas; 528 grams recovered during raid | | | Early Times Report
RAMBAN, Dec 11: Acting on credible information received at Police Station Ramban regarding illegal narcotics activity, Ramban Police have arrested a woman identified as Shabnam Begum, wife of Mohd. Younas, resident of Ward No. 1, Maitra Ramban, for her alleged involvement in the possession and trafficking of Charas-like narcotic substance. The information revealed that the accused had concealed a quantity of contraband within her residential premises with the intention of selling it among the youth of District Ramban. The inputs prima facie constituted offences punishable under Sections 8/20/21 of the NDPS Act. Accordingly, Case FIR No. 253/2025 under Sections 8/20 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Ramban, and the investigation initiated.
In another case Banihal police achieved success today when a police party apprehended the person namely Farooq Ahmed Naik S/o Mohd Iqbal Naik R/o Thachi Chamalwaas Tehsil Banihal, and on his physical checking a black color polythene containing approximately 70-90 gms cannabis(charas) like substance got recovered.Subsequently a case FIR no. 132/2025 u/s 8/20 NDPS stands registered and investigation initiated.
