Srinagar, Dec 11: In line with its commitment to technological excellence and customer convenience, J&K Bank today rolled out a suite of new Digital Products and IT Services in a special function held at the Bank’s Corporate Headquarters. This marks a significant upgrade to the Bank’s IT capabilities designed to enhance transaction ease, strengthen security and deliver a more seamless user experience.
MD & CEO Amitava Chatterjee launched the products virtually from the Bank’s Jammu Office, while Executive Director Sudhir Gupta, CGMs Sunit Kumar and Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat, General Managers and other senior officers of the Bank attended the event at the CHQ. All the Divisional & Zonal Heads also joined the meeting through VC.
Speaking on the occasion, MD & CEO Amitava Chatterjee said, “Digital transformation is no longer a choice—it is the spine of modern banking. With these new products and services, we are not just keeping pace with change; we are moving decisively from traditional branch-led banking to a truly omni-channel, tech-enabled model where customers can bank anytime, anywhere with complete confidence. This mega launch represents another step forward in our mission to evolve into a fully future-ready institution.”
Appreciating the efforts of the Bank’s technology team, MD & CEO Amitava Chatterjee termed the products as “timely, essential and useful feathers in the Bank’s digital cap”.
He said that the Bank’s Voice-pod App can be a game-changer as it doesn’t require sound box for voice-activated UPI payment notifications and simply works on a mobile phone thereby enhancing the ease of use. Similarly, he added, Rupay Platinum Credit Card that supports QR, tap-and pay and app based payments via all UPI apps like BHIM, GooglePay, PayTm etc. is a very good and ease-of-use product. MD & CEO urged the operational heads to redouble efforts at mobilising staff ‘for promoting these products along with Re-KYC through mPay Delight+ and Automated Digital Fraud Management among the people and educating them about their extremely useful features.’ “The success of this really good initiative depends upon how early and how effectively we ensure that people, especially our customers avail these products and services”, he said. In his remarks on the occasion, Executive Director Sudhir Gupta also congratulated the teams involved and commended their efforts towards strengthening the Bank’s digital network. He further said, “Amid the fast-changing technology landscape, the Bank is building a long-term digital transformation framework that consistently adapts to evolving customer expectations and increasing regulatory requirements.”
Elaborating upon the features of the new digital products and services, General Manager (Strategy & IT) Mohammad Muzaffar Wani said the launched offerings will go a long way in making Bank’s digital services more convenient and secure for the customers. He said, “By embedding advanced technologies into our products and processes, we are creating a superior banking experience that matches the best in the industry while remaining alive to the varied needs of our growing clientele.”
Earlier, a detailed presentation was made to capture all the important features of these products. The newly launched offerings include RuPay Platinum Credit Card, Automated Digital Fraud Management, Re-KYC via mPay Delight+, a Personalized Cheque Book issuance via Mpay Delight+, J&K Bank Voice Pod App and IMPS Simplified.
